Come help us manage event volunteers!
Role and responsibilities
The Shift Lead Coordinator (SLC) is responsible for training new Shift Leads, and ensuring that an adequately trained Shift Lead is scheduled for every event hosted by the Autonomy Project. In cases that staffing is not available for SL, the Coordinator will fill in for that event. The SLC will then be responsible for training new Shift Leads, either when recommended by the Shift Lead Coordinator (after working events and interacting with promising volunteers), or at the recommendation of other Leadership members. This entails arranging required cross training through the Volunteer Communications member, shadowing the new SL at one event, and training them on submitting hours.
In this role you will…
- Submit hours from each event (print out from SignupGenius) and input into our CRM
- Coordinate with volunteers and both train and coordinate shift leads for events
- Make sure every event has enough coverage
- Be the backstop for the volunteer team lead and co-lead when needed
- Need to understand all volunteer roles well and have great problem-solving skills
Establish a training pipeline for our promising volunteers to get more involved. If a volunteer has been cross trained on both Merch and Check-In, and shows an aptitude for peaceful problem solving, they may be a great candidate to be a Shift Lead! Shift Leads are responsible for coordinating volunteers on shift at events, taking attendance, and submitting hours.
Skills preferred..
- Great communication skills
- Peaceful problem solving personality
- Affinity for helping others learn new roles
