Want to understand how our teams work? Cool! Let’s dig in.
Team Structure
- Each team will have a Lead and Co-Lead.
- Team Leads report to Jamie and/or Des and the Board.
- Co-Leads pick up the extra work and are primed to take over when Leads need to take breaks or are unavailable.
- Team leads and co-leads are ideally a pair of “Get Shit Done” and “Ideas and Dreams” personality types.
- Each team is made up of Team Leads and multiple coordinators. These folks occupy various roles and help support the overall team responsibilities and goals.
- Teams may add additional coordinators as they see fit to help distribute workload and manage time commitments.
What are our teams?
Advocacy and Outreach Team
This team is dedicated to advancing the rights and visibility of the communities served by the Autonomy Project. This team plays a crucial role in bringing the community together and facilitating meaningful experiences.
- Our events team is broken up into sub-teams:

IT and Backend Team
Managing the digital infrastructure of the organization, the IT and Backend Team ensures that all technological systems function smoothly. This includes managing the website, internal communication tools, and data management systems, crucial for the efficient operation of the organization.
Marketing and Outreach Team
Focused on promoting the organization and enhancing community engagement, this team manages all marketing and public relations efforts. They develop and execute marketing campaigns, manage social media platforms, and engage with media to increase the visibility and impact of the Autonomy Project.
Merch and Diversification Team
This team is tasked with designing and selling merchandise, as well as developing diverse alternate fundraising initiatives to support the organization's activities. Their creative and strategic efforts help to raise funds that are vital for sustaining and expanding the project’s programs.
Volunteer Coordination Team
Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, this team ensures that volunteers are effectively integrated into various teams and roles. They play a critical role in maintaining a robust volunteer base, which is essential for the operation of numerous programs and events at the Autonomy Project.
Does that sound like you? Take a look at our most needed roles and see if one speaks to you! If none do, don’t worry, we still need your awesomeness on other teams!
Team Coordinators
- Team coordinators make up the bulk of the “behind the scenes” aspects of each area.
- Coordinators will help pick up individual tasks and areas, allowing leads to oversee planning and strategy on a higher level. Teams may have additional people inside those teams, including special teams for specific events or projects, but always report to the Team Leads.
- Coordinators may wear multiple hats as the teams come together, so it’s important that there is sufficient overlap in knowledge to pick up slack when team members aren’t available.
- We utilize Notion and Slack primarily for our communication and coordination, but no knowledge is necessary to learn these platforms.
