Upcoming Changes to Our Volunteer Sign-Up System
EDIT: The changes we were promised have not come yet, and it’s Jan 2026. So just hang tight. We’ll hopefully have movement there soon, because we can’t wait to do away with the multiple systems too.
Yet another software company overpromising and underdelivering.
Big news for our volunteer crew — we’re officially saying goodbye to SignupGenius and moving everything in-house!
Throughout August, we’ll be migrating all volunteer sign-ups to the system already built into AutonomyProject.org. This change will make things smoother, faster, and all in one place — no more hopping between platforms to claim a shift or see what’s open.
Why the change?
- ✨ One login, less hassle – You’ll be able to sign up for shifts directly through our site.
- 📅 Everything in one calendar – No more bouncing around to figure out when and where you’re needed.
- 📊 Better tracking – We can keep better tabs on hours, roles, and volunteer needs.
- 💌 Easier communication – We can send you updates right from the system without a middleman.
We know change can be bumpy, so August will be a transition month. Some events might still be on SignupGenius until we fully switch over, but by September, all volunteer sign-ups will live at AutonomyProject.org.
Keep an eye on your email for a step-by-step guide on how to log in and claim your shifts. And as always, if you run into any snags, our Volunteer Coordination team is here to help.
